To get into Johor Bahru by air, you can come through the Sultan Ismail International Airport which is not located in the city of Johor Bahru. It is located about 28 kilometers away in Senai instead serving Malaysia Airlines, the national air carrier and Air Asia, the budget airlines. On land however, you can come into Johor Bahru through the North-South Expressway, which comes from the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. If you are coming in from Singapore, you can use the causeway which would most likely be congested especially during rush hours, or the Second Link highway, which cost a bit more coming in to Tuas.

Travelling by bus into Johor Bahru will bring you to Larkin Bus Terminal, which is where you can then take the public buses into the city centre. The terminal here also serves commuters going in and coming from Singapore as well while a taxi stand is also here if you would like to flag down one to get anywhere else. Public buses into various parts of the city centre are available from here but you must be sure where you want to go so as not to get lost. You can go through the transport guide in johorbahru.com.my to find out more about what number bus you can take to bring you to your destination. Otherwise, it is advisable for you to take a taxi which is less hassle and more convenient.
